Tom's "Style Your Sole"


I was selected to particpate in Tom's "Style Your Sole". The event was hosted by Pedder Group and Tom's. The event took place in Lane Crawford in the IFC Mall. Being selcted to particpate, I was awarded a Lane Crawford gift certificate valued at HK$1,000 per student, per day.

"Style Your Sole" is an awesome event. It is also known as One for One. Every pair of shoes that were sold that day. Tom's will donate a pair of shoes to a person in need.

Class with International Fashion Designer Mimi Plange


Two weeks ago, my class got the chance to spend time with NY Designer Mimi Plange. SCAD held huge press events around Hong Kong to promote the kick off of the fashion program in Hong Kong. Mimi came to Hong Kong to help with the press events and talk about her "Scarred Perfection" Exhibition in the Moot Gallery (SCAD Hong Kong) Also check out her website. http://mimiplange.com/

I feel very privileged to be one of the first SCAD Hong Kong fashion students. Our class had lunch with Mimi Plange, which I was able to ask a lot of questions about the fashion industry. We went to a discussion featuring Mimi and Dreamnation, and she gave us a critique for our first toile on the mini collection were making.

Ranee K

I was selected to be a Fashion Assistant at Ranee K. Ranee K is a young, local up and coming fashion designer, who received her degree from Parsons School of Design, interned at Donna Karen after graduation, launched her own label “ranee_k” in New York in 1999, and opened her first signature in Central Hong Kong in 2000. As an assistant, l gained experience in measuring, handsewing sequins, studs and beads, putting together outfits, working in tandem with Ranee K staff, and being involved in all aspects running up to the fashion show (excluding production).
